The Singö Series
Singö is a murder mystery series set in the Archipelago of North Stockholm County on the idyllic island of Singö Island. The series follows Solbritt Andersson, a Detective in her 60s, who, wanting to get away from the big city, relocates to a cozy summer house on the island of Singö. Yet, within this environment, she instead ends up being dragged into one criminal case after another.
About Singö
Singö Island is located 120 km north of Stockholm and connects to the mainland via a series of bridges. About 300 residents make Singö their home year-round while the summer population varies between 3,000 – 4,000.
On Singö there is a campsite, a grocery shop, and a church as well as a few smaller businesses, but the nearest police station is 50 km away in Norrtälje.
Until the end of the Cold War, Singö was a restricted area, housing a large well-hidden military facility under the island’s bedrock that was designed to withstand a direct nuclear attack.
